Spring 2024 AAU Season

 

When are tryouts for the season?

There will be 1 primary tryout session for the Spring 2024 season. Session 1 will be held on Sunday February 25th. Additional tryout sessions may be added.

What if a player cannot make it to a tryout session?

If you are interested in trying out for the program but can’t make the tryout session, please email us at nespartanbasketball@gmail.com.

Who is eligible to tryout?

All boy and girl basketball players in grades 2 – 11 are eligible to tryout (ages 7 - 18). 

When does the season start?

Practices will start in early March.

How long does the season last?

The length of season will vary slightly from team to team but will go about 8-10 weeks, starting in early March and ending in early June.

How often will the team practice?

The amount of practices will vary per team, some will practice one per week, some will practice twice per week.

When will the team practice?

Teams will have practice start times between 5pm and 7:30pm on weekday evenings (usually younger teams will have younger time slots).  The day of the week that each team will practice will vary depending on the team.

Where will the team practice?

Our 2 most common practice sites are Thurston Middle School in Westwood and the Charles River School in Dover.  Some teams may practice in Norwood, Ashland, or Walpole as well.

When will the games be?

Games will be played in weekend tournaments.  The amount of tournaments entered will vary from team to team but will most teams will enter between 4-6 tournaments .  Each team will usually play in 3 - 5 games during a tournament (typically 2 games on Saturday and 1 - 3 games on Sunday, depending how far they advance in the tournament). 

Where will the tournaments be?

Tournament locations will vary, but the most common locations are Foxboro, Mansfield, Stoughton, Hanover, or Waltham. 

How much does the season cost?

The final cost will vary from team to team (typically younger teams cost less than older teams).  The average cost per player will be between $500 - $600 for the season fee. 

Are there any programs do reduce the player’s season fee?

Yes, we have several different programs that can help you reduce a player’s season fee.  We offer a Scholarship Program, Sibling Program, Sponsorship Program, and Referral Program.  Check out the info for each program below, if you have any questions about any of the programs, send us an email at nespartanbasketball@gmail.com.

  • Scholarship Program – families in tough financial situations may be eligible to get a significantly reduced player season fee. 

  • Sibling Program – if multiple siblings are playing for our program at the same time, each of your children’s season fee will be reduced.

  • Sponsorship Program – if you recruit a business to become a program sponsor, your child’s season fee will be reduced. 

  • Referral Program – if you recruit new players to tryout for our program, your child’s season fee will be reduced by $10 per recruited player. 

What uniforms will the players wear?

We will be using the same uniform design that we have had since the Fall 2018 season, with black shorts with our logo and black and white tops with red trim and players’ last names on the back.  Returning players are welcome to wear their uniforms from last season or may choose to purchase a new one.

Who will be coaching the team?
